The Highway 400 & Highway 11 corridor is the major
access route into Ontario's snowmobiling and snowmobile country passing
by the Ontario Federation
of Snowmobile Clubs head office in Barrie. Many of the properties

to Ontario resort and resort destinations for snowmobile vacations in
Ontario's Snowmobile Country. Many properties are right on one of the
100's of trail systems, or very close by for easy snowmobile trail access.

for the winter snowmobile season. Trail Permits for 2006/2007 are now
on sale at many snowmobile dealers and other retailers throughout Ontario,

Wigamog Inn is located directly on the R7 Trail. Comfortable rooms, great

weekend or weekday snowmobile getaway. Wigamog offers rooms and food packages
or room only with the option of eating in the main dining room, or having
a more casual meal in the Moose. We also rent snowmobiles.
With over 300 kilometres of professionally maintained trails throughout
Haliburton Forest’s 60,000 acre property, we have been referred
to as a “priceless piece of real estate that should not be rushed
but savored…” by Ontario Snowmobiler Magazine. Scenic trails
that access some of the remote areas within the property as well as trail
shelter cabins that let you warm up and enjoy a snack or simply socialize
with other riders. This system doesn’t cross any highways and the

A maximum of 100 day permits are issued per day and pre-registration (especially
for weekend outings) by phone is required. Seasonal permits are also available.

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC)
is the organization in Ontario that regulates and maintains the official
trail system. OFSC trails are clearly marked and well-defined corridors
with fewer dangerous surprises. Because they are groomed and used regularly,
overall they are smoother and wider, with better sight lines and fewer
hazardous corners, intersections, inclines and obstacles. Most water crossings
and ditches are bridged and ice crossings are usually staked or tree lined.
Traffic signs are prevalent throughout the system to give riders as much
advance warning as possible of trail conditions ahead.
