Innkeeper Wolfgang Stichnothe explains, "Gas prices are a major
concern for everyone. So, in June we posted a survey on our website
that asked people to explain how rising gas prices are influencing
their summer travel plans. After the nearly 900 responses were tallied,
the overwhelming majority of them indicated that people would be looking
for destinations they can drive to within an hour or so from their
homes – to make sure they can still pay for a nice getaway.
The Millcroft's gasoline rebate offer works as follows: Until August
31, 2008 guests that stay on any
two-night overnight getaway package (with arrivals between Sunday
and Thursday) will receive a $40 discount on the final bill amount.
Mr. Stichnothe hopes that this rebate will encourage people to visit
The Millcroft and to explore the surrounding Hills
of Headwaters region. "There are many great things for our
guests to do and see in this area. It is famous for its beautiful
scenery, championship-calibre golf, and historic charm. Natural features
like the Niagara Escarpment and the Oak Ridges Moraine are minutes
