Family Day Ontario February 2010 Holiday
Ontario Heritage Week Activities A variety of Heritage Day activities (see last minute Family Day Activities & Events) are taking place on the weekend of February 12-15 in the towns, villages and municipalities north of North of Toronto. The communities Alliston, Buckhorn, Collingwood, Gravenhurst, Newmarket, Ottawa, Peterborough, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Tweed are hosting special events, some with Free admission. More indoor and outdoor activities available throughout the week of February 15-21 at the Ontario Heritage Trust Site.
Many Ontario resorts, inns and lodges have family getaway packages throughout the month of February. Special activities for children included many outdoor recreation activities from ski lessons, snow tubing, ice fishing, indoor kids games and activities. Reserve your preferred weekend early. See Ontario Winter Getaways. Canada Heritage Day Theme Monday February 15 2010. Heritage of Sport and Recreation: A number of resources are available to assist communities to develop a program around this theme, The Canadian Heritage Foundation website states, "Across Canada sports and recreation activities have always played a central role in building social cohesion and community involvement. The late 19th and early 20th centuries saw an expanding variety of athletic activities being promoted from lacrosse, curling and hockey, to boating, skiing and hiking."
