Location

Haliburton School of ArtsHaliburton has many names and places. Not to get confused with the Village of Haliburton, or Haliburton Highlands, or Minden. Minden is located 45 minutes north of Lindsay on Highway #35, and is the county seat for the municipalities of Haliburton County. The description from the Haliburton Chamber of Commerce, describes an area as follows,

"The Haliburton Highlands - A Natural Work of Art",

With its many outdoor pursuits as well as a strong arts community and a land of hundreds of lakes and hectares of forests, Haliburton County is in the heart of what's known as cottage country, a four season recreational resort destination. The county also includes the Southern most part of Algonquin Park to the northeast, Dorset and Oxtonque Lake to the North West. EARTHSONG
Participants will compose and perform songs with inspiration drawn from the beauty of their natural environment, the stories and adventures of , R.D. Lawrence Place the rich history of Minden Hills and the Haliburton Highlands. The young songwriters will then perform their creations at the day’s end using voice, body percussion, found sounds, drums and other rhythm instruments!

Instructors: Barry "Bazza" Hayward and Stacy Kirkbride. COST: $25 per age 8+
