| 1. Where do I get a
map of Ontario?
A map
of Ontario is available on-line from the Government of Ontario. The
map, considered to be the "Official Map of Ontario" divides
the province into two sections. Map
of Northern Ontario.
Map
of Southern Ontario. Ontario travellers and tourists can pick up a
free map at one of the many Ontario
Travel and Information Centres.
2. Do I need a special snowmobile license to drive
a snowmobile in Ontario?
A. Please check the recent Government of Ontario website http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/quicknotes/snowmobile.htm
concerning current legislation and safety information.
3. Where do I get snowmobile information on current trail conditions

Federation of Snowmobile Clubs or by going to our current
news site.
4. When can I see maple syrup production in Ontario?
If past years are any indication the "first boil" of maple sap
north of Toronto will take place during the week of March 13 or the middle
of the March (Spring) break. Two years ago, the resort destinations of
Grey/Bruce started on March 15 and Haliburton/Kawarthas started their
first maple sap boil on March 22. These dates were reported by the Ontario
Ministry of Food and Agriculture. Many destinations north of Toronto may
have independent operators with earlier starts. Check the Maple
Syrup Festivals page, or the resort
getaway packages for maple syrup during the march break.
5 . When will the peak fall colours (colors)
arrive in 2008?
This is often a question we are asked on our website, and the answer can
vary depending on the source of the destination, the amount of rain, the
first frost, the temperature of nearby bodies of water, and the fullness
of the foliage on the trees, the vertical height of the area above sea
level. Predictions are just that---predictions based on forecasts. A little
bit of art, and a little bit of science. This year 2008 has seen a bit
more rain than usual, and the foliage is thick, the leaves are healthy
and probably a bit bigger this year than last year. This will make for
a more spectacular fall colour and fall foliage season in Ontario. More
